One of the amenties enjoyed by our residences is our tennis courts and play area.  The two courts are show in the picture below toward the rear of the picture and the play area is in the forefront.

The walking track was added to the perimeter of the area and we are looking into adding additional recreation games.

Plans are to eventually add an affordable covered picnic area with a fire-pit and picnic tables in the center area, plus there will be plenty of room for other activities. As a matter of fact- we are working on setting up a volleyball/badminton area along with a tetherball setup! It is going to be a great place for the kids to play safely off the streets and for our community gatherings.

We looked into activities like skating, biking and skateboarding. Unfortunately those sports would damage the new surface and cannot be allowed, but there are many other things your family, friends, tenants, etc can enjoy in the new LRR rec area. Golf shoes will also damage the courts. Wearing shoes that have non-marking outsoles will help keep the entire area looking sharp and new.

A very important point regarding the resurfacing of the court is that THE CRACKS WILL COME BACK. The foundation was done incorrectly and with constant temperature changes, there is no help for that. The company provided us with a putty concrete mixture in both the green and beige colors. Each spring (or whenever a larger crack starts to re-appear) we will fill in the cracks with the matching mixture. It will keep the surfaces useable, playable and looking good while we start a reserve account to eventually replace the courts. We expect this option to last 4-5 years.
